Tanpura

A Tanpura is a long necked plucked instrument used in North Indian Hindustani Music. With 4 or 5 strings, this instrument is used to create a continual drone to accompany other instruments or vocal performances. It does not feature in the harmonious part of the music, but supports the main music by providing an energetic, colour harmonic resonance
