Nataraj

Nataraj, The Lord of Dance, is a depiction of the god ‘Shiva', a cosmic dancer who performs to destroy a weary universe to make way for the god ‘Brahma' to start the process of creation. Shiva is often a bronze statue and is portrayed as dancing in flames and on top of a demon to symbolise ignorance. It is a well-known sculpture and is popularly used as a symbol of Indian Culture.
