Tabla

The Tabla is a famous percussion instrument from North India, believed to be evolved from the barrel shaped drum called Pakhawaj over 300 years ago. The tabla is primarily used to provide vocalists, instruments and dancers a repeated rhythmic pattern beat, but is also highly capable of delivering solos to display the player's range of skills. The tabla overtime has been used in other genres of music, including fusion, pop, drum and bass and many others.
