Yarlinie Thana

Yarlinie Thana began her musical journey at a young age, she was a member of the UK's National ensemble for Indian music, was involved in the production of the revolutionary album “Undone” and was awarded the Sangeet Ratna title in 2013.

In 2017, Yarlinie co-composed and performed an experimental piece of music, An Inner Voice, commissioned by the Arts Council England which explored the concept of harmonies (pre-dominantly a western music concept) within Carnatic music.

This piece's success has inspired her to continue pushing further boundaries, whilst still preserving the traditional qualities of Carnatic Music.
