Join us for a week dedicated to exploring and deepening your journey into Indian classical (Raagdhari) music.

Beginners are introduced to the world of Raagdhari music through guided learning that builds focus and listening skills. For more experienced learners, it offers time with tutors to refine technique, deepen understanding, and reconnect with riyaz.

This Summer School is open to everyone - learners of all ages - whether you are a complete beginner or already progressing on your musical path.

The programme will focus on building strong foundations in this musical tradition, ensuring that every core element is introduced and developed correctly. Through an immersive and creative approach, participants will strengthen essential skills and develop muscle memory for each building block of learning.

Using guru-shishya inspired, listening-led learning, each concept is trained through structured repetition.

The programme will explore:
• Raag & Taal
• Alankar (patterns), Bandish (compositions) and introductory Taans
• Basic ideas of swar, laya and melodic structure
• Introduction to composing, improvisation and expression

Learning progresses through guided Anukaran (imitation) and structured Riyaz, helping participants understand and apply core musical ideas and gradually move towards composing and their own creative expression.

Each day begins with a short assembly including group singing, light movement, and mindfulness. Evenings include informal sharing, listening sessions, and creative activities that support reflection & different ways of engaging with music.

The week ends with an informal sharing session on the final day, where participants share their learning & progress.
