🎶 Sanskar Music Summer School 2025: A Musical Dialogue with Nature

⏰ Times: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM daily

👧 Age: 4+ (open to all levels and backgrounds)


 What is Sanskar Summer School - and Who Is It For?

Are you aged 4 or above?
Want to start learning an Indian instrument but unsure when or where?
Curious about music but haven't explored it yet?

Sanskar is for you! Whether you're a total beginner or already learning, the week offers a joyful, structured space to discover, play, and grow.

  • Let us know your experience level
  • Complete your registration and payment
  • And you're set to go!

 

🌈 Theme: Music · Nature · Wellbeing

Sanskar 2025 is all about A Musical Dialogue with Nature - where trees whisper melodies, birds chirp rhythms, and the whole world becomes your instrument. Students will explore how nature inspires music through sound, movement, and imagination.


🌞 What to Expect

Each day is designed to balance learning, creativity, well-being, and joy:

  • Morning Assembly – Light yoga and meditation
  • Riyaz – Focused, guided practice in your chosen instrument
  • Nutritious Vegetarian Lunch – With outdoor games and play
  • Svara Anubhav – Creative exploration through improvisation, storytelling, movement, and listening
  • Reflections & Performances – Daily sharing with tutors, students, and guest artists


🎤 Special Performances
This year, enjoy two open Baithaks by our International Artists
Nabeel Khan (Sarangi) and Aman Paul (Tabla) – an incredible opportunity to witness world-class music in an intimate setting.


🌿 Outdoor Day at Kirkstall Abbey – Tuesday, 5 August

A highlight of the week! Students will spend the day surrounded by nature, creating music, sketching, writing, moving, and simply soaking in the sounds and stillness of Kirkstall Abbey. A beautiful blend of creativity and calm.


🎓 Instruments & Teaching Team

Students are grouped by discipline and experience level:

  • Tabla – Aman Paul (International Artist), John Ball
  • Sitar – Ustad Dharambir Singh, Luke and Kirtan
  • Santoor – Eeshar Singh
  • Bowed Instruments – Simrandeep Kaur and Nabeel Khan (International Artist)
  • Vocals  & Early Years & Activity  – Gunwant Kaur (with Sohini Kaur)
  • Yoga & Movement – Dhivya Srilakshmi
