Sonali

Sonali is an Indian Semi-Classical Vocalist from Kolkata. Growing up in a musical household, Sonali's initial training was under the guidance of her father Sri Sankar Das and Mother Smt Ruma Das. At the age of three she started to perform with her father on stage.

At ten years old, Sonali took up an interest in Indian Classical music which she began to learn from Pandit Nihar Ranjan Banerjee in Kolkata. She was also trained in Najrulgeeti by Pandit Sukumar Mitra, Rabindra Sangeet from Smt. Runu Dutta, as well as Bengali songs under the training of Sri Ashish Chakrabarty. 

Later, she received her training in classical music from Padmasree Vidushi Sumitra Guha in Delhi. Besides her affinity for Classical Music, Sonali cites a profound interest in Semi-Classical music like Thumri Dadra, Ghazal, Raga based songs and more. 

At present, she is undertaking her vocal training in the genre of Semi-Classical music from Guru Sri Anjan Majumdar who she commends as being an impactful mentor to her over the past three years.

Sonali had performed in many Classical Music concerts like Pracheen Kala kendra (Chandigarh), Sumadhur Hamsadhwani Delhi, Swaranjali Delhi, Deepti Kala kendra, Dhiren Bose Smriti Sangeet Sammelan (Kolkata). 

Beyond her musical feats, Sonali is an honours graduate in English from Kolkata University. Later, she obtained a graduate degree from Rabindra Bharati University with a first class in Classical Vocal Music.

Over the last ten years, Sonali has worked as a professional music teacher in Delhi.
