Simrandeep Kaur
Simrandeep Kaur is a distinguished Taus player and Indian classical musician, trained primarily under Bhai Siripal Singh Ji (Gurbani Sangeet and Taus techniques) and Ms. Shruti Kumar (disciple of Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty) in Hindustani vocal traditions, with advanced guidance from Ustad Dharambir Singh MBE.
Specialising in bowed instruments like the Taus, Dilruba, and Esraj, her soulful renditions of devotional ragas have enraptured audiences at iconic platforms, including India's historic Harivallabh Sangeet Pratiyogata, Sikhlens Film Festival, and a solo Taus performance for International Women's Day with Annapurna Indian Dance Company (2025).
A passionate educator, she mentors students through South Asian Arts UK and leads community-driven initiatives like The Pond Project (music workshops for 200+ children) and Thread Re-imagined (fusion of classical motifs with Yorkshire's textile heritage).
Recognised at the Dr. J.S. Bawra Sangeet Pratiyogita, Simrandeep was honored at a Community Musician Reception hosted by His Majesty King Charles III (Windsor, 2025). DBS-certified and multilingual, she bridges tradition and modernity through global collaborations.
