The Third-I

In Indian thought, the Third Eye, also known as the "inner eye" or "spiritual eye," symbolises enlightenment, wisdom, and inner vision.

With that emerges a ground-breaking musical initiative, The Third-I. Uniting the eclectic band,
The Tapi Project with the London-based The Third Orchestra, this project is a creatively enriched collaboration between diverse musical traditions that transcends geographical and artistic boundaries.

With a kaleidoscopic range of perspectives, heritages, and stories to draw from, The Third-I will create a unique musical experience that challenges not only how music is created and performed, but also the lens through which music is heard and appreciated.

Whilst creating a playground for the artists to freely experiment with creativity, the project encourages the next generation of global majority composers and performers to make their voices heard throughout the project. We are delighted to be working alongside Performance students from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), as well as young musicians from Tomorrow's Warriors in a series of workshops that will provide hands-on learning and foster a new understanding of music-making, performance, and appreciation.
