Pop-Up Culture Sharing Days – A Celebration of Heritage, Creativity & Community
This summer, with generous support from Leeds City Council, SAA-uk brought to life Pop-Up Culture Sharing Days — a vibrant series of events celebrating creativity, identity, and South Asian heritage in the lead-up to and during South Asian Heritage Month.
From musicians to poets, dancers to storytellers — and everyone in between — these events gave people across Leeds a space to share their culture, their voice, and their stories.
Why People Joined Us :
Pop-Up Culture events were more than performances — they were safe, joyful spaces for personal growth, self-expression, and community connection.
Participants:
-
Built confidence & found their voice
-
Connected with the community through stories and shared experiences
-
Celebrated their culture through music, poetry, dance and art
- Strengthened their sense of belonging
- Fostered empathy and understanding across differences.
