Step into a vibrant garden of culture, colour, and creativity as SAA-uk brings its Pop Up Culture Mela to Kirkstall Festival 2026, as part of South Asian Heritage Month this July!

Set within the stunning grounds of Kirkstall Abbey, our “Mystical Garden” invites you into a beautifully curated cultural space nestled among the historic ruins—offering a rich and immersive experience for audiences of all ages.

Across the day, discover a lively programme celebrating South Asian arts and traditions. Enjoy live music and dance performances, take part in interactive workshops, and explore a range of cultural stalls.

Experience the artistry of henna, gather around for engaging storytelling, and delve into heritage-led activities that bring traditions to life.

Families and young visitors can also embark on a fun and interactive heritage trail, designed to spark curiosity, play, and learning as you explore the space!

From rhythm and movement to creativity, conversation, and connection, the SAA-uk area offers a warm and welcoming environment to experience the richness and diversity of South Asian culture in a unique outdoor setting.
