Join the internationally acclaimed Arun Ramamurthy Trio for an engaging and thought-provoking masterclass exploring the foundations of Indian raga music and its relationship with contemporary jazz, improvisation, and original composition.
Led by acclaimed violinist Arun Ramamurthy, the trio is renowned for blending the rich traditions of South Indian Carnatic music with the creative freedom of jazz, creating a sound that is both rooted in heritage and boldly contemporary.
The ensemble has performed at internationally renowned venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, and Bimhuis in Amsterdam.
Drawing on their diverse musical backgrounds and experiences, the trio will explore the fundamental principles of raga music and share insights into how they create original work that bridges Indian classical and jazz traditions.
Through live demonstrations, conversation, and musical examples, participants will gain a deeper understanding of improvisation, collaboration, composition, and artistic identity.
