Simrandeep Kaur is a highly accomplished Taus player and Indian classical musician, with extensive training under Bhai Siripal Singh Ji in Gurbani Sangeet and Taus techniques, and Ms. Shruti Kumar (disciple of Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty) in Hindustani vocal. She continues her musical growth under the advanced mentorship of Ustad Dharambir Singh MBE.
Specialising in bowed instruments such as the Taus, Dilruba, and Esraj, Simrandeep is known for her deeply expressive renditions of devotional ragas.
She has performed at prestigious platforms including the historic Harivallabh Sangeet Pratiyogata in India, the Sikhlens Film Festival, and most recently delivered a powerful solo Taus performance for International Women's Day with Annapurna Indian Dance Company (2025).
A dedicated educator, Simrandeep teaches through South Asian Arts-uk and leads impactful community projects like The Pond Project — delivering music workshops for over 200 children — and Thread Re-imagined, a creative fusion of Indian classical motifs with Yorkshire's rich textile heritage.
Her artistic excellence has earned her recognition at the Dr. J.S. Bawra Sangeet Pratiyogita and an invitation to a Community Musician Reception hosted by His Majesty King Charles III at Windsor Castle in 2025.
