Poulomi Chakraborty is a celebrated vocalist, known for her mastery in Hindustani Classical and semi-classical forms such as Khayal, Thumri, Dadra, and Bhajan.
She began her musical journey at the age of seven under the guidance of Smt. Jogmaya Banerjee and Shri Kiran Kumar Mitra. Over the years, her talent was nurtured by eminent Gurus, including the late Smt. Sipra Bose, Smt. Vijaya Jadav, and Shri Chinaya, with constant support from her family and musical community.
Poulomi has performed for All India Radio in Mumbai and was awarded a national scholarship by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
Her rich, expressive voice has captivated audiences across the UK, with performances in Slough, Milton Keynes, Birmingham (on behalf of Sampad), Leicester's Peepul Centre, Leeds (with SAA-uk and Purobi Bangladeshi Association), Bradford (with Aaloron and Kala Sangam), and Halifax.
Now based in Leeds, Poulomi is a dedicated performer and tutor. She continues to enrich the UK's classical music scene and has collaborated with renowned artists including Pt. Sanju Sahai, Nilima Devi, and Bhupinder Singh Chaggar.
