SAA-uk Raga@7 series, presents Mehfil-e-Sitar.

It is with great pleasure we invite everyone with a love of the Sitar & Tabla to an intimate Summers evening recital featuring Internationally renowned Sitarist Ustad Shakir Khan, son of legendary Ustad Shaid Pervez.

Tabla accompaniment will be by the ever popular player Amanpal Singh senior disciple of Ustad Tariq Khan.

The evening is an opportunity to surrender, dream of far away place or simply bask in the warmth of the summer evening in the UK as the sounds of the alaap on sitar slowly plays each notes of the chosen Raag and gently begins to introduces a tempo to beacon the tabla join.

The taal is held to frame each taans that fills the air and improvisation begins leading us on to imagine a coming together, where time does not matter but the beat is essential and then the crosendo! Leaving us to return to reality of s Saturday in Chapel Allerton.
