Kirit Singh

Kirit Singh is a dhrupad vocalist and performer of Gurbani Kirtan based in the UK.

Kirit Singh's initial music training was in the piano and Western classical music. He became interested in Indian classical music as a teenager through his study of the shabad kirtan (Sikh devotional music) tradition under Ustad Gurdev Singh and Ustad Harbhajan Singh of the Namdhari community. Being drawn to the genres of dhrupad & dhamar vocal music, in particular, he went on to become a disciple of the eminent dhrupad vocalist Pt. Uday Bhawalkar, from whom he has been studying since 2013. Kirit has performed internationally at festivals and venues in the UK, Europe, Malaysia, and South Asia.

Kirit is also part of the musical duo, Dhrupadhamar, with pakhawaj/jori player, Jasdeep Singh.
