Sherin Sara Alex

Sherin is a media and marketing professional with over 16 years of experience at leading organisations such as the BBC, CNBC, and NDTV. Combining her career with her lifelong passion for news and storytelling, she has developed deep insight into the evolving media landscape and the ways stories shape our world. Her work spans collaborations between Indian and international news organisations, keeping her at the forefront of technological developments in communication.

Sherin is a proud recipient of the BBC's Unsung Hero Award for her seamless and tireless contributions during the pandemic. 

The daughter of an Army officer, Sherin is adaptable, resourceful, and confident in embracing new challenges. She enjoys reading, exploring linguistics through word games like Scrabble, and listening to both Western and Indian music. Having lived and travelled extensively across India and South Asia, she has a deep appreciation for South Asian art forms, particularly dance and music, and is passionate about creating positive impact through cultural engagement.

As Arts Marketing and Creative Communities Manager at SAA-uk, Sherin brings a strategic, people-centred approach to amplifying South Asian voices and narratives. She is dedicated to building meaningful connections between artists, audiences, and partners, using creative campaigns and collaborative initiatives to foster inclusion, engagement, and belonging.

With her blend of media expertise, cross-cultural experience, and commitment to storytelling, Sherin helps SAA-uk expand its reach, deepen its impact, and strengthen its role as a vibrant hub in the UK for South Asian performing arts.
