Statement on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The Board and Team of SAA-uk join the nation and the world in mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. A supporter of the arts and culture, a respected and committed monarch, and ultimately a woman who led an extraordinary life. Our thoughts and condolences are with her family.

SAA-uk's history and the Queen's reign have linked several times in the past 25 years: Jasdeep Singh Degun performed as part of Goldie's Band at Buckingham Palace in 2010, SAA-uk's founder Ustad Dharambir Singh was awarded an MBE for his service to Indian classical music in 2011, and during the Queen's visit in Leeds on her Diamond Jubilee Tour in 2012 she attended a performance by SAA-uk's Music Academy young musicians.

We will update this page with any changes to our timetable during the public mourning period, but at present there are no planned changes to our activities.
