Summer Solstice 2022
This year's summer solstice saw South-Asian Arts UK welcome the new season with a beautiful night filled with music, prayer, and mouth-watering food. From dusk till dawn, enchanting raags, earthy tablas, and sweetly plucked sitars showcased the best of South Asian Classical music that melded day and night in a harmony so immersive that sleep was the furthest thing from anyone's minds.
In a night unlike any other, we were reminded of the power of music to cast our bodies, minds and souls into a state of serenity, celebration and reflection. But, perhaps more pertinently, while we sat together into the early hours of the morning, we were reminded of music's power to connect people and communities, a message that holds an even more special significance after 3 years of apartness.
Summer Solstice 2022 has truly been an unforgettable experience, and we thank you all for sharing it with us.
