SAA-uk's Spring/Summer season is here

We are thrilled to bring you an array of spectacular experiences as colourful and diverse as the breadth of South Asian music and dance.  

For Carnatic music lovers, delight in the captivating performance
Tritiya Prakriti: The Third Gender which brings to life through Bharatanatyam dance the revered stories of LGBTQ+ communities found within Ancient Hindu mythology. Celebrating the beautiful landscape of South India culture and tradition doesn't stop there, as in Carnatic Pearls with Yarlinie Thanabalasingam, we invite you to experience the authentic beauty of Sri Lanka.  

For fans of Hindustani music, award-winning sitarist Jasdeep Degun will astonish as he presents his boundary-breaking new album Anomaly on a UK tour stopping in Leeds, Nottingham, Liverpool and more. Continuing our stellar showcase is Chandra Chakraborty who takes us through the thrilling life of Chanda Bai in her musical theatre performance Music of Courtesans. And if that wasn't enough to look forward to, in celebration of young, and emerging talent, our classical platform will showcase the exciting future of South Asian music with a special performance by Santoor player Eeshar Singh

If you are a music student, we have two Raag & Taal Masterclasses with esteemed maestros which will introduce you to the intricacies of South Asian music. And like in any other season, our Music and Dance Academies will reopen their doors on the 24th of April, welcoming students of all ages to the new term. 

And the one we have all eagerly awaited since last year, our annual flagship event Summer Solstice: Asian Music Festival is back and bigger than ever. Featuring some of the greatest talent across the globe on the sun kissed eve of 21st June at the Leeds Corn Exchange, this one-of-a-kind experience is one you won't want to miss!
