South Asian Dance Showcase: Parampara

All year long, our talented Dance Academy students have inspired and mesmerised with their hard work and dedication to learning all about South Asian dance!
So, in celebration of their wonderful achievements as we bring a brilliant academic year to a close, SAA-uk and Leeds 2023 invite you to join us for an electric, fun-filled showcase of North and South Indian cultural heritage ‘Parampara -imparted from Guru to Disciple' as presented by our wonderful Kathak and Bharatanatyam students.
Sharing the stage with them is an impressive line-up of professional dancers who will bring their cultural pride and diverse art to Leeds, with Bhangra, Garba, Odissi, and much more leading the way to the celebration, just in time for South Asian Heritage Month!
First half: 3:00 - 4:15 pm
1) SAA-uk Kathak Dance Academy
2) SAA-uk Bharatnatyam Dance Academy
3) Guest dance students of Dr. Mitul Sengupta from Rhythmosaic Dance Company
4) Finale act of the first half
Break: 4:15 - 4:35 pm
Second half: 4:35 - 5:30 pm
1) Shivani Jatar - Kathak
2) Sayani Ghosh - Odissi
3) Shyam Dattani - Kathak
4) Chiragi Solanki and group - Dandiya folk traditional dance
5) Heera Punjab Diyan, Bhangra group dance, Gursimran and group
