|Kabul – the capital and largest city of Afghanistan, found high in the narrow valley between the Hindu Kush mountains. Full of lush gardens, vivid flowers, spiralling vibrant bazaars and mosaic lined palaces, this ,500-year old city is a jewel in the foothills.|
Bringing the music of this wonderous city is Qais Essar, a contemporary composer, instrumentalist and producer. He has toured extensively around the world sharing his new genre of music, and now he has reached the shores of this island with the rabab – a soothing, soul touching thousands year-old instrument, bringing its rich history and sounds.
Accompanied by Surdarshan Singh Channa an amazing tabla player. These two musicians have a friendship with their music and each other, their rhythms like two gliding birds swooping around the other.
