Celebrate the diverse forms of art and culture present in Leeds!
This May, Leeds City Council are holding a launch event to celebrate the completion of the public realm area outside the Corn Exchange. The transformation has allowed the Corn Exchange the setting it deserves, and provided visitors and residents alike with another enjoyable place to absorb the wonderful things our city has to offer.
In celebration of this wonderful occasion, we are partnering with Leeds City Council and the Corn Exchange, Leeds to host a variety of Indian classical and folk expressions of art and culture!
Listen to the mesmerising 100-stringed santoor performed by John Ball, the ancient veena played in the South Indian classical Carnatic style by
Ramya Tangirala, as well as dance presentations by
Jyoti Manral (kathak),
Santosh Menon (bharatanatyam) and bhangra group Phulkariyan (bhangra/giddha by Simran, Manpreet and Leena)!
Join us on Saturday 14th May at the Corn Exchange -
no need to book, just come along and enjoy!
